Reproductive health is a premise that allows girls and women to live through the stages of life with confidence, strength and autonomy. The need for balance in one’s life is an important aspect of healthy living and is especially important for girls and women, whose lives are greatly shaped by their reproductive health. This research employed a critical review method to examine the significance of reproductive health for girls and women in achieving balanced lives across diverse social and cultural milieus. The study highlights that positive attitudes, communication and innovative teaching methodologies are keys to raising reproductive health awareness among girls and women. Schools and community programmes have been identified as key platforms for the provision of age-appropriate, culturally sensitive reproductive health education. These settings promote dialogue, challenge myths and provide opportunities for girls and women to build self-awareness, confidence and decision- making abilities. Open lines of communication at all levels between teachers and parents, among health care professionals and community leaders also contribute to a supportive environment and foster positive views of reproductive health. These strategies are associated with positive health outcomes as well as greater feelings of emotional well-being, self-esteem and social inclusion. In conclusion, reproductive health is an enabling basis for equilibrium in life for girls and women. Comprehensive reproductive health education and services should be prioritised to empower girls and women, advance gender equity, and contribute to sustainable development at the individual and societal levels.
